Churches, cemeteries and hospitals are listed in two different sections HomeTownLocator using two different data sources. It's important that they be listed properly in both.
Churches, cemeteries and hospitals are listed as cultural features in the Geographic Name Information System (GNIS) maintained by the US Geologic Survey (USGS). The GNIS provides the data for the Features section of HomeTownLocator. There is a simple and straightforward method for making additions and corrections to the GNIS database.
Churches, cemeteries and hospitals are also listed in the "Local Directory of Business, Government and Social Services" link from each Community Profile. If the church, cemetery or hospital is not listed properly in the Local Directory, then follow the guidance concerning "business" listings.
